About KEFC

Put any group of blokes together, and the chances are sooner or later they are going to want to start kicking a football around. Here in Saudi Arabia, despite summer temperatures in the region of 50ºC, there has been a group of players, until recently, doing just that.

Formed in 1997, Khobar Expats Football Club has variously seen 7-, 8- and 9-a-side leagues outside on the grass; 6-a-side leagues indoors; 11-a-side leagues against British Aerospace teams and a variety of friendlies against local hospitals, universities and visiting British naval vessel crews.

Sadly, in December 2014, after 16 years of continuous expatriate football, access to our grass pitch was curtailed, our incumbent Club President left the Kingdom, and the remaining balls and bits and pieces of club kit packed into a cupboard waiting in the  (vain?) hope that someone will come to the Club’s aid, and oversee the resurgence of football in this hot and sunny part of the world.

With our website lapsing, this blog will remain the sole link to Khobar Expats Football Club’s fine history and, who knows, its future…
